Have you been making your way through the list of Lincoln Book Award nominees?
If you answered no... why not? It's super easy, you get prizes, and you might even win some Cubs tickets! (Plus, your English teacher's probably making you read anyway, right? Two birds, one stone, 'Kits!) If you answered yes, we've come up with some *extra* prizes for you! You can now pick up some flair for each nominee that you read! Check out Ms. Chadwick's, Ms. Brown-Powell's, and Mr. Chan's lanyards (...SO FAR!) below: Did you know December is National "Read a New Book Month"? It's true!
Pop into East Library during these last days before Winter Break to pick up a new or new-to-you book! (We even wrapped some for you!) It's the most wonderful tiiiime of the yeeeaar!FADE IN: EAST LIBRARY -- MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, AM SUPPORT Chadwick's scanner beeps as she checks out a book to a student. CHADWICK (begins almost automatically) Okay, so this will be due-- OH! ACTUALLY, you get to keep this book until January 7th! STUDENT What? Oh, RIGHT! Winter Break! CHADWICK That's right! Two weeks from today we won't BE here! Preemptive circulation extension! This book isn't due for almost a WHOLE MONTH! STUDENT Sweet! Annnnd scene!
Seriously, though, how great is Winter Break? Any book checked out during the next two weeks gets an preemptive circulation extension through January 7th -- no need to renew until after Winter Break!
