The Kill OrderPrequel to the New York Times best-selling Maze Runner trilogy! Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the earth and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees. Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it -- if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive... As you probably know, yesterday was Veterans Day (also known as Armistice Day -- click here to learn more about the day and see related novels). What you might not know, though, is that yesterday was also the birthday of world-renowned writer Kurt Vonnegut, author of such famous novels as Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five. Today, November 12th, also happens to be the birthday of still-actively-writing Neal Shusterman, who has written several YA novels including the Unwind series, The Schwa Was Here, and the 2013 Lincoln Award nominated Bruiser. To see lists of books written by both men, click the 'Read More' link (below right), or stop in to MRC and check out our November Birthdays display. The MRC (as well as Central) are in the process of adding a whole bunch of NEW books to our collection! We'll be featuring some of them on this blog over the next couple of weeks, as well as a list of read-a-likes or books with similar themes for each featured book (just in case someone beats you to it).
