Winter Break is also a GREAT time to make a dent in your Lincoln Book Award totals! (Chadwick finally finished Salt to the Sea last week and is *still* pretty broken up about it.) Currently we have at least one copy of nearly all the nominees available, so pop in before you pop out!
Winter Break means time for family, fun, and READING! East Library has LOADS of recently-added fiction, nonfiction, and graphics for you to check out before you head out for Winter Break! (Seriously, they don't even all fit on our "New & Noteworthy" display shelves.)

ETHS's Books 'R' Us book club will be holding its last pre-Winter Break meeting on Monday, December 18th! We will be discussing Nicola Yoon's Everything, Everything. Come join the discussion (and enjoy some pizza)! Questions? See Mrs. Brown-Powell in East Library, or email her at [email protected]. That's right -- in addition to being a big month for holidays, December is also National Read a New Book Month! Now is a GREAT time to check out a new author or genre. (Plus we're *still* adding new books from our last order into the collection!)
Need some suggestions? See any member of the East Library Staff, check out our "Wildkits Reading Recommendations" display, or our new-for-this-month "Unwrap a New Book!" display, as seen below. East Library has just received our first BIG order of new books for the year, and it is CHOCK FULL of good stuff! |

We'll be joining up with the *amazing* ETHS Books 'R Us Book Club to enjoy pizza, raffle off some prizes, and preview the books nominated for next year's Lincoln Award (so you all can get a head start now!).
We will also be drawing a name to see who wins those tickets to a Chicago Cubs game, so if you read read enough books to be entered in that drawing DON'T MISS IT!
Also: if you've read the novel Every Day, or if you're just interested in learning more about the best book club at ETHS, be sure to stick around afterwards for Books 'R Us Book Club's discussion of David Levithan's novel.
